Welcome

My name is Jimmy Ho, and I'm a photographer from Gainesville, Florida who specializes in creative portraits and photojournalistic wedding photography.

Photography is a lifelong passion of mine. Always learning and accomplishing newer goals, I'm constantly pushing myself to create better images. I believe that everything we create is a culmination of all of our previous experiences. This concept is reflected in my style, which I hope that you will come to enjoy as something different - elegant, creative, fun and colorful!

I first became interested in photography nearly two decades ago when my father taught me how to use his old manual-focus film camera. I have been fascinated ever since. Although many years have gone by since these days, my interest in photography has never diminished.

I utilize the newest and latest professional digital cameras, lighting, software, and most importantly, the education and knowledge to use them, to create stunning, emotion-filled, meaningful and fresh images for my clients. I am a full-time member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA).

I now reside in Gainesville, Florida with my loving wife and daughter. My wife, April, photographs with me and helps run the photography business while our daughter, Lily, assists in holding the lens caps. This blog documents both our personal and professional life, and features images from the weddings, portraits, and events that I shoot, as well as those from our family adventures.

Molliann & Russell’s Wedding

It’s wedding time again, and this one was a beauty!  Down here in tropical Florida, the weather is quite unpredictable.  You just never know what’s going to happen.  Even though tropical storm Fay kept many folks here in Gainesville in their households, over 200 guests came from various states to show their support for Molliann & Russell and their gorgeous wedding.  From the glow of the Hilton, to the vast expanse of Creekside, to the great atmosphere of Steve’s Cafe, this wedding was a hit, and nothing was going to stop it!

One of the most wonderful feelings I get about being a wedding photographer is to be able to watch and document families as they come together.  This wedding was definitely no exception.  It was a beautiful sight to see so many friends and family come together in support of these two lovebirds, and a joy to see both of them happily joining their hands in marriage.

Chrissy and Daniel’s Engagement Session

Have you ever met people that were so easy going and totally fun that you felt like you’ve known them all your life? Well, that’s pretty much how I felt when I met Chrissy and Daniel. These two lovebirds were full of life and laughs. We decided on the Thomas Center for their engagement session, and had a blast!

Katherine and Jeremy’s Wedding

Tommy & his Gibson

I did some portraits for Tommy today, a guitarist who has his own studio in Jacksonville, Florida, and also teaches locally at the Gainesville Guitar Academy.

He showed up with his awesome Gibson guitar..check it out!

October and Doyle’s Wedding

October and Doyle had a beautiful outdoor sunset and evening wedding. Held at the lakehouse at Camp Blanding, their wedding was full of joy and tears..not to mention some serious partying!! Here are a few highlights from their wedding (more to come later).

It got dark rather quickly. Before we knew it, it was so dark we could barely see anything in front of us. I set up some studio lights and created a light stage, and they danced on through the night!

Molliann and Russell’s Engagement Session

Molliann and Russell are getting married in just a little over a month!  I met up with these two lovebirds for a gorgeous engagement session at the Thomas Center, and we had a blast! 

We’re working on a custom guest signature book for these two, and just had to share some images we think would be great for it.  Here are some highlights from their engagement session.

Carlee and Daniel’s Engagement Session

Hey everyone.  I just got back from photographing Carlee and Daniel’s awesome engagement session on the UF Campus.  Gator fans are gonna love this one!

We started out meeting Albert & Alberta and got some great shots with them.  Then we made our way to the Ben Hill Griffin stadium to take some stunning photos from up top.  Laslty, we visited the Baughman Center for some night photos.

I had a great time getting to know these two lovebirds and look forward to photographing their wedding next year!
